Pyrography is not necessarily an expensive hobby : even for about € 100 the basic equipment, with which the first steps are made, can be obtained.

In this pages we will show and explain you the basics about pyrography, and give you some information about the equipment needed to try it by yourself.

Combined use of the 2 basic styluses

   
 

 

With the triangle stylus (nr 21) the drawing is burned onto the wood. By pressing or scratching the stylus on the wood, some relief can be obtained.
 

  With the flat stylus (nr 24) to colour entire surfaces. Changing the temperature of the stylus will change the colou

 
  For both styluses, it is important to pratice the sliding movement in the air, which starts before the stylus touches the wood, to avoid a dark spot at the first contact.
